Why UPPAbaby Is Recalling Its All-Terrain RIDGE Jogging Strollers

Jogging strollers recalled after rear brakes cut off child's fingertip

UPPAbaby has issued a voluntary recall of more than 14,000 All-Terrain RIDGE jogging strollers.

Why are the products being recalled?

The popular stroller company has identified an issue with the RIDGE jogging stroller the company believes could cause accidental injury. The stroller’s rear disc brakes have openings that can cause amputation or laceration if a child gets their fingertip gets caught in the openings while the stroller is in use.

The problem with the brake discs was brought to UPPAbaby’s attention after the company received a report of a non-occupant child whose finger had to be amputated after getting caught in a brake disc.

How do I know if my product is affected by the recall?

The recall affects any UPPAbaby All-Terrain RIDGE Jogging Strollers purchased between October 2021 and August 2022. You can see more specific details on what products are recalled and confirm if your stroller is a part of the recall on the UPPAbaby website.

What should I do if my product is recalled?

The good news is parents won’t have to throw out their recalled RIDGE jogging strollers. UPPAbaby is happy to provide parents with free replacement brake discs for both wheels.

UPPAbaby recommends you stop using the RIDGE stroller until the discs have been swapped out. You can fill out a simple form to request your replacement discs at UPPAbaby.com.
